Prioritise the tasks your kitchen must support
Every Koh Samui project starts with your floor plan, photos and how you cook. For condo kitchens, we plan around salt air from the Gulf and the heavy rains between October and December. Materials reach the island by car ferry, so we plan deliveries and site access early.
A compact kitchen works best when its priorities are clear. Start with the essential appliances, a useful preparation space and storage for the things you actually use. Extra cupboards only help if you can still reach what is inside and their doors do not get in your way as you move around.
Compare a straight run with the other layouts your room allows. Note how the fridge and dishwasher doors open, and where nearby doors and dining furniture sit. Think about where the shopping comes in and where clean dishes are put away. Small appliances need a home too, whether they stay on the worktop or are tucked away after use.
How much does a condo kitchen cost on Koh Samui?
A condo kitchen on Koh Samui typically costs ฿130,000–500,000. A compact single-wall kitchen in a studio or one-bedroom unit sits at ฿130,000–250,000; an L-shaped or galley kitchen in a larger unit with a quartz worktop costs ฿220,000–500,000. Building rules on working hours and lift bookings are planned into the schedule.
These prices already allow for ferry freight and team travel to the island.
Include access and building requirements
Plan drawers and shelves around the cookware you own. Think about the height of bottles, easy access to the bins and how far you can reach into upper cabinets. Corner storage should be genuinely easy to use, not just a way to fill every gap. Our storage planning guide helps you turn this list into a clear plan for your cabinets.
For a Koh Samui condo, let us know the lift dimensions, delivery access and any building-management rules for installation work. Check where the existing water and power points are, and any restrictions, before deciding to move appliances. Send SamuiKitchens.com a floor plan, a few room photos, your appliance list and the property location. With these, we can tell you whether your project is a good fit, talk through layout options and explain what we need for a quotation.
Make room for the things you actually use
A compact kitchen does not need a smaller version of every feature from a large villa. Choose the appliances you use, a preparation area that stays available and storage you can reach without emptying another cupboard. A restrained palette and a continuous worktop can keep the room visually settled. Use the dining area for gathering when an island would make the kitchen harder to move through.
